begins flights across Southwestern US to find a naturally occuring bowl in a butte, extinct
volcano, etc. for a project he has in mind.

Around this time, studying Buddhist symbolic architecture

Finds a bowl in Barstow, CA — but too low, and climate too hot. Others were so naturally perfect, did not want to disturb.
